Raziel was just a great fit for my wife and I…we exited the process with a new friend!

What was your selling experience like?

Katie

Exciting, organized, quick

John

Extremely professional. Raziel and his team ran a very comprehensive and impressive process. From the pre-marketing flier to soliciting (and accepting an) offers. Great outcome for us. We were very happy with the price and felt great about the family taking our home…they will really enjoy our street and our neighbors will enjoy them.

Why did you choose Raziel to sell your home?

Katie

Over the years, I had noticed Raziel’s marketing materials. They were just so well done and so smart. I was also very involved with Burlingame Community for Education Foundation (BCE) and Raziel was the first realtor to sign up with the BCE Realtor Program. In addition to a friend’s recommendation, these things had us sold!

John

Package deal for us. We wanted him to represent us for both the buying and selling. Also, Raziel was just a great fit for my wife and I…we exited the process with a new friend!

What surprised you the most about your selling experience?

Katie

How quick it went! And how addictive real estate is and so fun to follow.

John

Two things. First, how fast it went from going on the market to accepting an offer…5 days! Second, how emotionally attached I was to our house…it wasn’t easy leaving our home of 10 years with so many wonderful memories.

What was your journey like buying a home?

John

Extensive. We must have looked at 50+ homes in the area. But well worth the effort, as once we found our current home, we immediately knew it was the one.

Katie

It was a long journey because we didn’t have to move. We were only going to buy a house if it was the Right One. Raziel suffered through many many months with us. But it was an amazing education and when we saw the right one, we knew!

What surprised you the most about the home buying process?

Katie

That it was actually kind of fun.

John

How few homes come on the market! People just don’t move away. Which shouldn’t be surprising as we moved from one location in Burlingame to another…we didn’t want to leave either!

My experience working with Raziel was __________ .

John

Awesome!

We wanted a little larger home with a yard to throw a lacrosse ball in, in Burlingame, with no basement and no pool. BAM! Raziel delivered. If it weren’t for him, we would not have found such a perfect outcome. We absolutely love our new home!

Katie

Top-notch.

We love Raziel!! Raziel and his amazing team helped us buy our new Burlingame home and sell our old one. He was so incredibly patient with us. Gave us smart advice. Made everything as painless and smooth as possible. Most importantly, we trust him implicitly and just flat out like the guy. He has the best attitude and simply loves his job. You can tell immediately from all of his materials and his approach that he is a smart, thoughtful realtor that goes above and beyond. Did I mention that he is smart?? Cannot recommend Raziel enough.

Where did you grow up? How did you decide to stay here?

Katie

I grew up in Palo Alto. I left the area for 8 years. Eventually chose Burlingame because it reminded me a lot of Palo Alto when I was a kid.

John

I grew up in Virginia, where most of my family still resides. A few years out of college I decided to move to the Bay Area for one year…that was 20 years ago. What kept me here? Well, exactly what my mom feared, I met a girl from California!

What do you love the most about your neighborhood?

Katie

That people know each other. They feel proud to live here. I love the size of Burlingame – you always see someone you know. And it is beautiful. The trees!!

John

What I most love about Burlingame is the “small town” feel and that it’s a community founded on family values.

What was your childhood ambition?

John

Become a theoretical physicist…derailed in college due to a girl. Different story for a different time :)

Katie

To be a librarian.

What's your favorite hidden gem?

John

Is anything hidden anymore?

What was your first job?

Katie

Babysitting. But my first "real" job was as a summer camp counselor. My worst job was working as a chamber maid in Nantucket.

John

My first real job was definitely my favorite. It was during my tenth grade summer and I worked as part of a small construction crew remodeling bathrooms. 6 guys (me 16; them in their late-20s) with nail guns, power saws, working in jeans, t-shirts, sneakers and a tool belt…nirvana!

What's been your biggest challenge?

John

Adjusting to these Bay Area real estate prices. I’m from Virginia, remember!

What's your favorite movie?

Katie

"The Right Stuff." My favorite movie with the kids is "School of Rock."

John

Fletch

What's your greatest inspiration?

John

Easy. My family.

Katie

Anyone and anything that makes me laugh.

What's on the top of your bucket list?

John

Go back to school and continue my passion for mathematics and physics.

Katie

Going to China to see the missionary city where my great grandfather lived and worked in the early 1900s.

What organizations do you love?

Katie

Charles Armstrong School, BCE, Decoding Dyslexia, Family Connections, Curiodyssey, Lucille Packard Children's Hospital.

John

Local Burlingame ones...AYSO, Coyotes, Lacrosse, BCE
