Benjamin Franklin once said, “Wine makes daily living easier, less hurried, with fewer tensions and more tolerance.”

Treat yourself to a relaxing afternoon without having to drive to Napa or Sonoma by visiting nearby Domenico Winery in San Carlos, a couple blocks away from REI and Best Buy at 1697 Industrial Road.

Dominick Chirichillo was introduced to the traditions of family winemaking in the basement of his grandfather Domenico’s home in New York. There was a wine press that Domenico showed Dominick, passing the love of handcrafting wine from one generation to another.

Dominick’s passion for winemaking took him from amateur competitions, while he lived on the East Coast, to commercial status after moving to Northern California. Moving to California has enabled Dominick to choose his grapes hands-on from selected vineyards in Napa Valley, Sonoma’s Central Coast, Alexander Valley, Russian River Valley, Amador County and the Lodi District. As of the fall of 2010, the wines of Domenico have won 300 medals for wines produced from these various regions!

The Tasting Room is open daily from noon to 5 PM and has an old world elegance and charm. Taste the handcrafted varietals at the 24 foot long mahogany bar while you learn about the intricate flavors of the award-wining wines. For only $5 per person you can enjoy five flights of wine, and if you buy a bottle, the $5 fee will be applied to your purchase. For more information about these wines, click here.
