Winston Manor

Located just north of Serra Highlands, between El Camino Real and Highway 280, Winston Manor is a significant part of the post-war suburban development that increased the population of South San Francisco six-fold between 1940 and 1960. Homes here reflect the values and architectural style of that period, with older homes (Winston Manor was developed in three separate phases between 1950 and 1952) being mostly modest, single-story and ranging in size between 900 and 1,200 square feet. As development continued, homes grew in size. Later properties are a bit larger, ranging up to 1,500 or 1,600 square feet, and often have two stories of living space. Lots in all three phases are consistent at 4,500 to 5,000 square feet.

Winston Manor real estate falls squarely into the middle of the South San Francisco market. Recent sales have ranged from the mid-$800,000s to the low $1.3 millions. For that buy-in price, homeowners can expect well-built, well-maintained, fully-detached single-family homes with garages and yards, located on quiet suburban streets with good commute access (including the South City BART station, which is less than a mile from the center of the neighborhood). Winston Manor is not close to downtown South San Francisco, but it is near shopping and dining at Serramonte Center.
