The neighborhood has a higher percentage of condominiums and townhouses than almost any other in Foster City, with the low-rise townhouses of Winston Square and Winston Village and the waterfront condos on Lido Isle, among others, joining The Islands to make up the majority of Neighborhood #5 real estate.
The handful of single-family homes in The Islands are not to be overlooked, however. Built in the early 1970s with one or two stories, more than 2,000 square feet of living space and three to five bedrooms, many have wide water views. Most of the waterfront homes clustered along Coronado and Pizarro Lanes boast private docks.
The Islands homes for sale cover a wide variety of price points. A large waterfront single-family home will cost up to and over $2 million. Condos at The Islands, including townhouses in the Winston Square complex, will run between $1.5 and $1.9 million, depending on size, location and complex. Several units are as big as 2,000 square feet and have detached two car garages, giving them a feel similar to single family homes at a more affordable price. On Saturday mornings, there is a popular farmers market located right in Winston Square.
What the district does have, though, is waterfront Catamaran Park and easy access to Leo Ryan Park, the William Walker Recreation Center, the Foster City Library and the Metro Center Shopping Center, plus a bonus: great views of the fireworks every July 4.
