We all know how important it is to give our children every advantage so that they are ready and eager to learn when they start school. The Burlingame Public Library offers Story Time for infants, babies, toddlers and preschoolers. Bring your preschoolers (ages 3-5) to the Library at 480 Primrose Road on Tuesdays at 10:30 AM for Preschool Story Time. These events are quite popular and it's also a good way to for your children to make new Burlingame friends! All said and done, there's almost 400 story times put on by the library every year!

On Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 AM, babies from 18 months – 3 years old are entertained at the Toddler Story Time at the Main Branch on Primrose Road in downtown Burlingame (across from City Hall).

The Easton Branch at 1800 Easton Drive offers Toddler Story Time on Thursdays at 11:30 AM and Bedtime Story Time on Wednesdays at 7 PM. What a nice way for your toddler to end the day. For a complete calendar of Burlingame Library events for children, click here.

For babies, check out the Just Baby and Me program for infants, their parents and caregivers on the first Friday of every month. (This is a very special program and parents are encouraged to make arrangements for older siblings.) Click here for more information about this program and for songs, finger-plays and rhymes to share with your baby.

All story time sessions are free. For the complete listing of all programs and events for kids click here.

Not to be outdone, the San Mateo Library offers similar free programs for children.

Visit the Marina Library at 15 Susan Court or the Hillsdale branch at 205 W. Hillsdale Boulevard most weekdays for Books, Babies and Rhymes, where infants up to 23 months old are treated to short books and lots of rhymes with their caregivers. For older preschoolers, try Toddler Story Time for fun stories and rhymes that excite children ages 2 to 4 about books and reading. For older children, try the after school fun program, Stories and Crafts, where children ages 4 – 8 are treated to stories accompanied by a fun craft project.
