You may not know it, but there's a pretty fun adventure awaiting you (and your family!) at the Half Moon Bay Kayak Company. They have single, double and triple kayaks as well as a variety of stand-up paddleboards that you can rent. Kayak among seals, birds and other marine life in Protected Pillar Point Harbor, or, if you’re already an experienced kayaker, you can enter the wild waters of the Pacific (check with them about the available dates). You can also take local trips through one of the most diverse ecosystems in the U.S.

If you’re new to this sport, don’t worry. They provide wetsuits and waterproof paddle jackets for all classes, rentals and tours, but bring your own towel and a change of clothing. To see the schedule of classes for all levels, click here.

If you’ve always wanted to perform but haven’t had the nerve, Angelica’s Bistro in Redwood City provides the stage on Open Mic Tuesdays. Here is your chance to conquer your fear and showcase your musical talent in front of an audience. Play your original music, covers, and/or jam with others. (Music is generally acoustic, but they can run an electric bass through their board.)

Bring your instrument and tell your friends and family to make dinner reservations so that they can cheer you on. Angelica's is located in downtown Redwood City at 863 Main Street. Their phone number is 650-365-3226.
