Celebrate Halloween in a whole new way this year: On October 29th and 30th, The Hiller Aviation Museum in nearby San Carlos hosts its Halloween Haunted Hangar, a day of fright and flight. Explore the Museum’s Gallery, build a creepy craft and join the festivities at the Aerial Carnival. Each day ends with the Hiller’s flying witch, who arrives by helicopter to drop her Halloween pumpkin. There will be candy, prizes and surprises. Add to the fun by coming in costumes.

In addition to its regular exhibits, this weekend on October 22nd the Hiller hosts a gathering of homebuilt planes (X-Planes) built by Bay Area flight enthusiasts. Definitely a worthwhile trip for your children if they're into building things!

Both events are free with museum admission. For more information, hours, admission costs (get a $1 coupon), and directions click here.

About the Museum

Easily accessible from Burlingame to San Carlos, The Hiller Aviation Museum is a great place for an educational and entertaining family outing. The Museum is dedicated to looking back at aviation’s history and to exploring its future, and the entertaining programs and special events make this a must-see spot for families. See both vintage and futuristic aircraft, and be sure to stop by the The Flight Sim Zone (where you can take flight in a variety of aircraft using desktop flight simulation software).
