Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Palo Alto, CA and Jeff grew up in Lincoln Park, Chicago.
Jeff and I both went to Skidmore College in upstate Saratoga Springs, NY where we met. While loving my first experience of real seasons I have always been a California girl at heart. What we love about where I grew up (and where we live now) is the ability to jump in a car and in a matter of minutes to hours you can be at the ocean, mountains and valleys. After college, Jeff and I lived in Chicago together for 8 years and absolutely loved it. Chicago is a wonderful city full of great restaurants, cultural activities and the home of Jeff’s family and many of our closest friends. However, we both appreciate being outdoors for more than 4 months of the year and we were ready to get back to the sunshine state of California and raise our baby girl as a Cali girl!
What do you love the most about Easton Addition?
We are absolutely in love with our street. From the minute we moved to Burlingame we would walk our dogs around Easton Addition and always wanted to end up over here. The tree-lined streets and the overall feel of our neighborhood just feels like home to us.
What was your journey like buying a home?
Easy…which was a huge surprise to us.
What surprised you the most about the home buying process?
We were the most surprised by how easy and straight forward the whole process was. We had been warned how competitive the market is and not to get our hopes up or fall in love with any home. And luckily for us, we got the first home we put an offer on…and yes…we had fallen in love with the home, so we couldn’t have been more relieved and happy!
Our experience working with Raziel was _______.
Raziel was incredibly organized, calm and confident throughout the whole process. He helped us get everything in order thoroughly and efficiently to put together a solid offer. He communicated incredibly well with us throughout the entire process. Beyond that, Raziel makes a genuine effort to stay in touch and connected. Once you work with Raziel, you not only have a savvy real estate broker but also a friend.
Which is your favorite room of the house?
Kitchen because we can see out of our large bay window from the front living room as well as look out onto our backyard while our daughter plays outside.
What is your favorite hidden gem?
I don’t know how hidden it is…but one of our favorite place to go with Chloe is Curiodesy at Coyote Point. Nothing beats seeing your toddler light up when they get to see a bunch of animals, airplanes and games all in one place.
What was your childhood ambition?
In my 5th grade year book I said my dream when I grew up was to be a world traveler. I have a lot of places still to go, but I feel very lucky to have travelled many places around the world with Jeff…couldn’t have asked for a better person to see the world with.
Jeff always thought he would be 6’6” and a professional basketball player, oh how things change when you grow up (and are 5’10”).
What is your proudest accomplishment?
What is your biggest challenge?
Being present in the moment and not always thinking (worrying) about what needs to get done.
What was your first job?
I worked at Abercrombie & Fitch…so embarrassing…I was 16
Jeff worked at Banana Republic…he was 16 as well
Can you tell that we both like clothes?
Who is your inspiration?
My 99 year old grandfather (Jeff’s Grandfather-in-law) is our inspiration. He came from a small town in Shelby Nebraska and worked his way to becoming president of Ford Motors and then head of Stanford business school. Beyond his professional achievements, he is the kindest and funniest man who has such pride and love for his entire family.
What is your favorite movie?
I love the classic old school chick movies…Dirty Dancing, Pretty in Pink, Grease…oh and Beetle Juice (not as girly). Jeff on the other hand is a sucker for any sports movie. He is happy to re-watch over and over again Field of Dreams & Caddyshack any day of the week.
What is your top bucket list item?
Both of use would love to go on a safari with all our kids one day.
What organizations do you love?
Cycle for Survival
What is the best advice you've ever received?
“Smile, life is awesome!”- Brian Rozelle
One of our friends who recently passed away from cancer spread this way of thinking to everyone he knew. This quote was his mantra as he battled cancer. We both try to remember and remind ourselves of it every day.
