Homes on the water in San Mateo rarely come available as there are only several dozen of them. Many even have small sandy beaches! Lake Street is one of the most popular streets with single family waterfront homes, and there’s also a collection of spacious modern townhomes across the way in Marina Point, which houses a beach complete with a sand volleyball court. San Mateo – unlike Foster City – allows motorized craft in its lagoons, so in the summer many people use the lagoon to wakeboard and waterski, and most homes have a dock too.
